The doctors of the Prevention & Wellness Center utilize "Diagnostic Listening," which allows them to be proactive and not reactive with their patients' health issues.

Our staff utilizes unique functionally based diagnostic testing such as:

Heavy Metal Screening

Measures unbound free metal ions in urine. In a healthy body with a properly functioning detoxification system there should not be any free metal ions in urine. If they are present that means the body's detoxification capacities are being exhausted, since all unbound, un-neutralized metal ions are toxic to our bodies.

Food Allergy Sensitivity Testing

Determines any food allergies or sensitivities that a patient may have; also evaluates for immediate or delayed food reaction. >>More Info

Thyroid/Iodine Testing

Iodine testing is utilized to evaluate and monitor thyroid function.  Thyroid disorders are usually a result of too much or too little hormones being produced by the thyroid gland.  Signs of Thyroid dysfunction may include fatigue, memory loss, insomnia, weight loss or gain, anxiety, irritability, increased sensitivity to heat or cold, bowel disturbances, and depression.

Adrenal Stress Panel

Utilized to evaluate stress, glycemic control, and evaluate adrenal capacity. Six different panels are utilized to assess different adrenal activities.

  • Cortisol Rhythm test – shows a 24 hour diurnal cortisol rhythm generated in response to real life stress. Facilitates the diagnosis of stress mal-adaption and adrenal fatigue.
  • DHEA – measures the average DHEA levels for the day. The cortisol to DHEA ratio helps to determine the projected time for recovery and substances that will promote this recovery.
  • 17-Hydroxyprogesterone – A major precursor to cortisol which helps to evaluate the cause of low cortisol output in weak adrenal glands.
  • Insulin Tests (fasting & post meal) – evaluates gylcemic control, and diagnose a functional insulin deficit and insulin resistance.
  • Secretory IgA – evaluates the impact of stress on the immune system.
  • Gliadian Antibodies – detects sub-clinical grain intolerance.

Gastrointestinal Panels

A non-invasive screening of the gastrointestinal tract and its functions: including 15-22 individual but related tests intended to evaluate GI function and health. Intestinal pathogen infections cannot be clinically diagnosed based on history, symptoms, or an examination. A specific laboratory evaluation and confirmation is needed. This test utilizes three stool samples and 2 saliva samples which are submitted by the patient after home collection.

Urinalysis
Screening tool to detect substances or cellular material associated with different metabolic and kidney disorders. Urinalysis also gives the practitioner a rapid method of analyzing organ function and response to treatments. Often, substances such as protein or glucose will appear in urine before patients are aware of a problem. Any positive Urinalysis results are a red flag/warning that something may be wrong internally and should be evaluated further. Generally, the greater the concentration of abnormal substances, the more likely there is a problem. The test used in the office tests for:

  • Leukocytes • Glucose • Protein • Ketone • Blood (hemolyzed and non-hemolyzed) • Bilirubin • Urobilinogen • Nitrites • Ascorbic Acid • Specific Gravity

Other Tests Available:

  • Federal and Forensic Drug Testing
  • Neurotransmitter Testing
  • Hormone Test Panels (Male & Female)
  • Bone Health Markers
  • Yeast Panels
