Doctor Biographies

Dr. Kim Henderson

Dr. Kim Henderson is a Chiropractic Physician and founder of the Prevention & Wellness Center in Vernon Hills, IL. In 2004, she graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. Prior to receiving her doctorate, Dr. Kim treated patients on the North Shore for 16 years as a Certified Massage Therapist, Registered Kinesiotherapist and Director of Rehabilitative Care for several clinics. Dr. Kim is pursuing her post-doctoral degree in Chiropractic Internal Medicine.

 

Dr. Kim is married and a mother of two; she enjoys dancing, biking, hiking and camping. She also speaks fluent Spanish (se habla Espanol).

Dr. Maggie Bell completed her Doctorate of Chiropractic Medicine from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL.  She did her internship at the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center in Chicago, IL. Shortly after Chiropractic school she completed a Registered Nursing degree from Oakton Community College. Prior to obtaining her degree from NUHS, Dr. Maggie earned her Bachelor's Degree in Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Northern Colorado. Dr. Maggie is currently pursuing a specialty in Orthopedics. She has worked with a large variety of musculoskeletal conditions such as post surgical cases, spinal stenosis,  disk herniations, tendonitis, fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and osteoporosis. She has also worked with non-musculoskeletal conditions such as thyroid disorders, headaches, asthma, gastrointestinal disorders, and hormonal imbalances. Dr. Maggie is dedicated to improving the health and the quality of life for people of all ages through functional medicine and chiropractic care.

Dr.Kristy Kijinski

Dr. Kristy Kijinski earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic degree from National University of Health and Sciences (NUHS) in Lombard, IL. She also has a certification from National University in Acupuncture. Prior to obtaining her degree from NUHS, Dr. Kristy earned her Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences at Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, IL.

 

Dr. Kristy was born and raised in Bloomingdale, IL and has lived in the local area her entire life. She is eager to apply her skills in alternative medicine and improve the overall lifestyle of residents in the community. Each patient is a unique individual with different needs, goals and capacities. Dr. Kristy strives to provide personalized and comprehensive treatment with respect and compassion. Outside of chiropractic, Dr. Kijinski's personal interests include traveling, golf, her Golden Retriever and spending time with her friends and family. She is a member of the NUHS Alumni Association and American Chiropractic Association.

Therapeutic Staff

Dave Paramski

David Paramski is a graduate of Cornell College in Mount Vernon, IA with a BA in Kinesiology. Dave joined the Prevention & Wellness Center staff shortly after completing his internship at the clinic during the Summer of 2007. As a Chiropractic Aide, Dave's responsibilities include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, and, preparing patients for examination. Dave also assists patients with hyperbaric chamber, progressing rehab and physical therapy treatment plans. He will be pursuing his Masters degree in Occupational Therapy through post graduate studies beginning Fall, 2010.

Carrie Starck

Carrie Starck is a Licensed Massage Therapist and graduate of Cortiva Institute in Seattle, WA. She also holds a BA in Sociology from the Abilene Christian University in Abilene, TX. As a massage therapist, Carrie has experience in both injury treatment and massage therapy for relaxation. Her specialized modalities include Swedish, Deep Tissue and Neuromuscular therapy, as well as Injury Treatment, Sports and Prenatal massage. Carrie has also completed additional training in Advanced Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Fibromyalgia and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome treatments.

Office Staff

Jill Walters holds a nursing degree from Harper College in Palatine, Illinois. Jill worked at Lutheran General in the Pediatric Specialties unit and at Glenbrook Hospital in the Internal Medicine Specialties unit for 8 years. After the birth of her son, she worked with Special Needs children for 8 years. For the past 10 years Jill has managed and owned Destination Fitness, an In-Home Personal Training and Wellness firm with a staff of 35 that caters to clients from children to seniors in Illinois, Southern Wisconsin and Northern Indiana. Jill heads up the Public Relations division of Prevention & Wellness Center, Inc. Jill spends her free time volunteering with local charities, and serving as a board member with the McHenry County Women's Connection, an affiliation of Stonecroft Ministries and as an advocate for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
