Doctor Biographies

Dr. Kim Henderson

Dr. Kim Henderson is a Chiropractic Physician and founder of the Prevention & Wellness Center in Vernon Hills, IL.  In 2004, she graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA.   Prior to receiving her doctorate, Dr. Kim treated patients on the North Shore for 16 years as a Certified Massage Therapist, Registered Kinesiotherapist and Director of Rehabilitative Care for several clinics.  Dr. Kim is pursuing her post-doctoral degree in Chiropractic Internal Medicine.

 

Dr. Kim is married and a mother of two; she enjoys dancing, biking, hiking and camping. 

 

She also speaks fluent Spanish (se habla Espanol)

Dr. Maggie Bell is a graduate from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, IL.  She completed her clinical work at the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center in Chicago, IL and received her undergraduate degree in Sports and Exercise Science at the University of Northern Colorado, in Greeley, CO.   Dr Maggie is continuing her education in health sciences and  dedicated to improving the health and the quality of life for people of all ages through functional medicine and chiropractic care.

 

Dr. Maggie is also a certified DOT drug and alcohol screening technician.

Dr. Tara Stateler

Dr. Tara Stateler is a graduate of the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA.  Prior to attaining her doctorate, Dr. Tara received her Associate Degree in Chiropractic Technology and a BA in General Science from Palmer College. Specializing in family care, Dr. Tara enjoys treating patients in the family unit from babies to seniors. She is committed to continued education in pediatric and family care, staying abreast of the newest technologies available in chiropractic patient care.

 

Dr. Tara is married and the mother of two.

Therapeutic Staff

Danielle Carlson

Danielle Carlson is a graduate from Chicago School of Massage Therapy. As a Licensed Massage Therapist, she treats patients with many issues of pain ranging from headaches/migraines, muscles tension, neck pain, low back pain, tennis elbow, and plantar fasciitis. Working in a clinical setting, she specializes in Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, ART (active release technique), and BMT (body mobilization technique).  In addition, she is a licensed Phlebotomist and is pursuing additional education in Gluten Sensitivity.

 

Danielle is educated in sign language to assist patients who have experienced hearing loss.

Ross Mundinger

Ross Mundinger is a graduate of Illinois State University in Normal, IL with a Bachelors Degree in Biological Sciences. Prior to that Ross received his Associates Degree in Science at the College of Lake County in Grayslake, IL. As a Chiropractic Aide, Ross' responsibilities include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, and, preparing patients for examination. Ross also assists patients with hyperbaric chamber, progressing rehab, inter-segmental traction and physical therapy treatment plans. He will be pursuing his Doctorate in Chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic in the Fall of 2010.

Dave Paramski

David Paramski is a graduate of Cornell College in Mount Vernon, IA with a BA in Kinesiology.  Dave joined the Prevention & Wellness Center staff shortly after completing his internship at the clinic during the Summer of 2007.  As a Chiropractic Aide, Dave's responsibilities include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, and, preparing patients for examination.  Dave also assists patients with hyperbaric chamber, progressing rehab and physical therapy treatment plans.  He will be pursuing his Masters degree in Occupational Therapy through post graduate studies beginning Fall, 2010. 

Carrie Starck

Carrie Starck is a Licensed Massage Therapist and graduate of Cortiva Institute in Seattle, WA.  She also holds a BA in Sociology from the Abilene Christian University in Abilene, TX.  As a massage therapist, Carrie has experience in both injury treatment and massage therapy for relaxation.  Her specialized modalities include Swedish, Deep Tissue and Neuromuscular therapy, as well as Injury Treatment, Sports and Prenatal massage.  Carrie has also completed additional training in Advanced Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Fibromyalgia and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome treatments.

Melissa Zdeb

Melissa Zdeb, RD, LDN, is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian Nutritionist. While taking a natural approach with nutrition for weight loss, Melissa believes in healing the body, preventing chronic disease and improving overall health conditions.  She assists patients with achieving and maintaining optimum health with use of alternative medicine approaches addressing Food Allergies/Sensitivities, Digestive Issues, Food Cravings, Migraines, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, Depression, etc.  She can customize meal plans for patients based upon results of Food Sensitivity Blood Testing, HTMA (Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis) and Metabolic Typing.

 

Office Staff

Sean Henderson

Sean Henderson graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 2001, with a B.S. degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a minor in Business Administration.  He spent five years managing group homes and institutions for the disabled as a Quality Mental Retardation Professional (QMRP).

 

Taking his love for travel, creativity in the culinary field and his keen business skills on the road, Sean managed several restaurants in Alaska, St. Louis, MO and Bloomington, IL before joining his sister, Dr. Kimberly Henderson in the management of the Prevention & Wellness Center.  Sean enjoys working for his sister and using his creative business skills to help her business grow.

 

Sean enjoys playing tennis, golf and softball.  He also likes cooking various cuisines, the great outdoors and traveling.

Michelle Prima

Michelle Prima is a graduate of the University of Illinois Medical Center with a degree in Health Information Management. She earned her Master's Degree in Health Care Administration from Dominican University. Michelle has worked at Lutheran General and Glenbrook Hospitals, and as a consultant for Care Communications. After raising her daughters, she worked in retail and as a Pharmacy Technician. Currently, she owns her own Professional Organizing business, Prima By Design, Inc. She has brought together her organizing skills and health care experience to help manage the accounting and other records for Prevention & Wellness Center, Inc.

 

Jill Walters holds a nursing degree from Harper College in Palatine, Illinois. Jill worked at Lutheran General in the Pediatric Specialties unit and at Glenbrook Hospital in the Internal Medicine Specialties unit for 8 years. After the birth of her son, she worked with Special Needs children for 8 years. For the past 10 years Jill has managed and owned Destination Fitness, an In-Home Personal Training and Wellness firm with a staff of 35 that caters to clients from children to seniors in Illinois, Southern Wisconsin and Northern Indiana.  Jill heads up the Public Relations division of Prevention & Wellness Center, Inc. Jill spends her free time volunteering with local charities, and serving as a board member with the McHenry County Women's Connection, an affiliation of Stonecroft Ministries and as an advocate for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
